LEGGET & PLATT HAS MATERIALS ORIGIN VERIFIED

CARTHAGE, Mo. — After a supply chain trace, the steel in Leggett & Platt’s innerspring’s has earned 100% Made in USA Certified status.
To achieve the status, Leggett said it had a third-party verifier of country of origin claims traced raw materials to their sources and examined the supply chain.
“For more than 130 years, people have trusted Leggett & Platt innerspring’s for comfort and support. We’re proud to continue showing our commitment to quality while supporting American families, jobs, and the economy,” said Eric Rhea, president of the Bedding Group at Leggett & Platt.
Leggett & Platt’s steel originates in its mill in Sterling, Ill., where recycled scrap metal is turned into steel rod. That rod is drawn into wire at one of the company’s wire mills and then formed into innerspring’s.
“Shoppers may not ask about every step of our process, but Made in USA matters to a lot of people,” said Mark Kinsley, staff vice president of marketing for the Bedding Group. “We want our manufacturing and retail partners to be able to tell the story of homegrown products on the sales floor.”
As mattress shoppers enter stores, they may see Made in USA Certified hang-tags showing which products earned the designation.
